Harry H. Flaig, 92, of Marseilles passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Ego officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Ottawa with Military Honors.
Harry was born September 16, 1924 in Peru to Gottlob and Anna (Waldman) Flaig. On December 11, 1948, he married the love of his life Frances Kieras of Peru who survives.
He served in the United States Army. Harry and Frances farmed in the Princeton and Oregon area. Harry was employed by Caterpillar in Joliet until his retirement.
Harry is survived by his wife, Frances; two daughters, Janet (Jack) Armstrong of Marseilles and Karen (Andy Freschi) Kwarta of Peru; five grandchildren, Harry (Amy) Armstrong, Brian (Jennifer) Armstrong, Jillyan (Earl) Albright, Glenn (Mireia) Kwarta, Katherine (Justin) Pattelli; five great-grandchildren, Cleary and Cassie Armstrong and Tommy, Hunter, and Karen Albright; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Anna Davidson, Gertrude Flaig, and Margaret Holler; and three brothers, Henry, Gottlob, and Robert Flaig.
