Harold Ray Harper, 83, of Marseilles, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023, at his home.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2023, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Clark officiating.  Afterwards a gathering for family and friends will be held at Dayton Ridge Golf Course.

Harold was born on October 27, 1940, in Owensboro, KY, to Carl B. and Clara (Lanham) Harper. In 1994, he married Marlene Heimonen of Chicago, who survives.

He was a cook at the Original Pantry Café in Los Angeles and was the Country Gentleman at Cracker Barrel. Harold enjoyed golfing and his happy place was Dayton Ridge Golf course. He had a hole in one golfing and also bowled a perfect game. He enjoyed watching his granddaughters play softball and loved his family.

He is survived his wife, Marlene; his children, Dr. Sabrina Harper (Carl) Hudson, Robert (Kira) Harper CSM Retired US Army, Gary (Lee Pham) Harper, Cynthia Hengst, and Bill Hengst; two grandchildren, Shelby and Jenna Harper; ten step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Harper and many nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Amber Thaler; and seven brothers and sisters.
