Glenn Steven "Bird" Combs, 76, of Marseilles, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024, at his home.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Deacon Ron Wackerlin officiating.

He was born on June 28, 1948, in Ottawa, to Wilbert Glenn and Mary Lou (Faletto) Combs. On February 15, 1974, he married Hester Husfelt of North East, MD who preceded him in death in 2014.

Bird was employed by Ludwig Explosives until his retirement. He was a Lifetime Member of the Marseilles Lion's Club where he was a Past Club President and Past District Governor. He served on the Marseilles Planning Commission for many years.

He is survived by his children, Darrell (Wendy) Davis, Melissa (Jeff) Fenoglio, Steve (Brett) Combs, and Cindy (Natalie) Combs-Sprouse; six grandchildren, Carly, Brittany, Peyton, Cole, Taylor, and Brody; two brothers, Michael and David (Linda); and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hester and his parents, Cedric and Mary Lou.
