Gerald Michele Stropoli, 89, of Marseilles, formerly of Chicago, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at St. Margaret's Hospital.

Memorial services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, December 8 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Father Ghislain Inai officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home.

Gerald was born April 8, 1930, in Chicago, to Carl and Constance (Careli) Stropoli. On July 16, 1955 he married Geraldine Ann McBride of Chicago who survives.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was employed by Commonwealth Edison for over 40 years as an electrical engineer until his retirement.  He was member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Seneca.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; two daughters, Carla Stropoli of Marseilles and Mary (Bart) Rivers of Indianapolis, IN; one son, Michael (Deanna) Stropoli of Marseilles; three grandchildren, Christian and Ryan Stropoli and Noah Rivers; and one brother, Thomas (Rose) Stropoli of Orland Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carl Stropoli Jr.

Memorials may be directed to the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle.
