Gerald G. Brodbeck, 87, of Marseilles, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at LaSalle County Veterans Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 10, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.

Gerald was born on January 21, 1931, in Marseilles, to Walter R. and Anna L. (Sutton) Brodbeck. In 1948, he married Lorraine Sampson of Marseilles who preceded him in death in 2007.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1949. He owned and operated Central Heating and Air until his retirement in 1981. He and Lorraine enjoyed their fishing trips to Canada. After his wife passed away, he opened Four Royals Restaurant in the mornings.

Gerald is survived by one daughter, Laura (Kent) Hougas of Marseilles; one son, John (Carole) of Streator; eight grandchildren, Carole Ann Reh, Dawn Trompeter, Bradley Hougas, Michael and Tony Krause, Jodi Brodbeck, Jeff and Jared Brodbeck; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine; his brother, Richard in infancy; daughter, Lana Krause, and his son, Gerald W. Brodbeck.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the LaSalle County Veterans Home.
