Frederick "Fred" Krause, 79, of Marseilles, passed away on July 20, 2022, at LaSalle County Nursing Home.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 24 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. following visitation at the funeral home with Deacon Ron Wackerlin officiating with military honors.

He was born on May 13, 1943, to Theodore and Inez (Zinnini) Krause. In 1995, he married Mary Ann Donnelly of Morris who survives.

Fred was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marseilles. He served in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Caterpillar for over thirty-five years until his retirement. Fred was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoors man. He was a member of many sportsmen's clubs, and he wrote a column about the outdoors for the Ottawa Times for over twenty years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; two sons, Frederick Krause, Jr. and Bradley Krause, both of Morris; his stepchildren, Cheryl Phelps and Cathy Kerkhover of Foley AL; Chuck Donnelly of Katy, TX, and Cindy Wilkerson of Suwanee, GA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
