Evelyn D. Hogue, 83, of Marseilles, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.

She was born on September 10, 1939, in Ottawa, to Arthur Joseph and Myrtle A. (Brown) Carpenter. In 1953, she married Fred R. Hogue of Wedron, who preceded her in death in 2013.

Evelyn was employed by Nabisco until her retirement. She also worked for A&P and then for D&S for many years. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Fred Jr. (Kandace) of Marseilles; her daughter, Debra Lynn (Tim) Perry of Marseilles; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Tiffany, and Samantha Perry, and Nathan, Braydan, Beyonce and Rylee Hogue; seven great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Marge Pfaff, Jerry Carpenter, Ronnie Carpenter, and Cathy McDonald.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Carpenter; her mother, Myrtle Petersen; her husband, Fred Sr.; and three brothers, Danny, Joey, and Johnnie Carpenter.

Her grandchildren will be pallbearers.
