Ellen "Jean" Denny-Greene, 88, of Washington, IL, formerly of Marseilles, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Rivershores HealthCare & Rehabilitation Centre.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 23, at Riverview Cemetery, with Rev. Anthony Ego of St. Joseph's Catholic Church officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles is handling the arrangements.
Jean was born January 5, 1929, in Eau Claire, Wis., to Herbert and Dorothy (Dufner) Moy.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Washington, IL. Her family relocated to Marseilles, IL in 1945. She sang on the radio in the Chicago area in the late 1940's. She attended and graduated from Marseilles High School. Then in the mid 1960's, she studied in LaSalle to become a licensed practical nurse and later worked at Ryburn King Hospital in Ottawa.
Jean is survived by a son, Michael (Evelyn) Denny of Washington; a daughter, Sue (Carl) Moore of Marseilles; a granddaughter, Danielle Roberts; two great-grandsons, Owen Fuller and Greyson Roberts; and one brother, James Moy of Payette, ID.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Moy.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
