Eldon Orus Standley, 85, of Channahon, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Joliet.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, January 29 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles with military honors.

Eldon was born November 21, 1935, in Bucklin, MO, to Orus Francis and Alice Evelyn (Overstreet) Standley. On November 19, 1967, he married Doris Sharp of Marseilles who preceded him in death in 2014.

Eldon served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Caterpillar in Joliet for forty-five years until his retirement. He was a member of the Channahon Methodist Church.

He is survived by his son, Bruce Nelson of MS; seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; and his brother, Dale (Betty) Standley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; one daughter, Pamela Rush; one son, Larry Nelson; and two brothers, Nicholas and Alvin Standley, his twin.
