Edith V. Jacobsen, 99, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, November 1, 2021 at Pleasant View Luther Home.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, November 4 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with pastor Tim Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL at a later date.

Edith was born November 6, 1921, in Chicago, to Elof and Esther (Fornell) Almen. On May 3, 1947, she married George L. Jacobsen of Chicago who preceded her in death in 2006.

She was an active member at Glenview Free Church. She and her husband enjoyed many happy years in Eureka Springs, AR in their retirement. Edith was a wonderful cook and was very devoted to her family and her faith.

Edith is survived by a daughter, Evie Beckman; six grandchildren, Emil, David, Mark, Cheryl, Lori, and Tad; several great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Almen; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Flicek; one brother; and six sisters.

Memorials may be directed to the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago or the Awana Clubs.
