Dorthey E. Rivett, 91, of Seneca, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 29 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home, followed by services at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Joy Slone officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Seneca.

Dorthey was born October 2, 1928, in Seneca, to Herbert and Martha (Hoschtetler) Terry.  On April 26, 1947, she married John A. Rivett of Seneca, who preceded her in death in 1988.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church Women's Auxiliary and the Seneca Ladies Fire Sirens.  Dorthey enjoyed baking, sewing, reading, gardening and playing bingo, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Dorthey is survived by her four daughters, Lynda Howard of Princeton, Cheryl (William) Warning of Morris, Deanne Ebelherr of Ottawa, and Merri (Barry) Cobler of Marseilles; one son, Terry Rivett of Ottawa; one daughter-in-law, Fran Rivett of Morris; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, John R. Rivett; one daughter, Dianne Rivett; one grandson, Matthew Rivett, and one son-in-law, Kenneth Ebelherr.

Memorials may be directed to Joliet Area Hospice.

Her grandchildren will be pallbearers.
