Dorita Lynn "Dorrie" Wright, 56, of Marseilles passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Morris Hospital.

Memorial visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Memorial services for Jim and Dorrie will start at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Reverend Duane Kaufman officiating. A reception will be held at the Marseilles American Legion/VFW following services.

Dorrie was born on August 19, 1965, in Ottawa, to Kenneth and Janet (Wheeler) Hicks. On May 24, 1986, she married James Wright of Marseilles who preceded her in death on December 16, 2021.

She was employed by Marseilles Bank. Along with her therapy dog Eric, Dorrie served at the Marseilles Public Library by providing a reading time to many children through the service Tail Waggin' Tutors, a program of Therapy Dogs International. She and Eric visited many people at the local nursing homes and hospitals.

Dorrie is survived by her daughter, Jamie (Dusty) Kaster of Bloomington; one granddaughter, Hadley Streich of Bloomington; her mother, Janet (Mike) Kleckner of Seneca; her father, Kenneth Hicks of Mazon; and two half-brothers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim and one step-grandson, Deegun Kaster.
