Donald L. Slover, Jr., 51, of Marseilles, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017, at his home after a long battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Clark of Marseilles Church of the Nazarene officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Masonic Rites at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.
Donald was born December 19, 1965 in Bedford, IN to Donald and Phyllis (Stevens) Slover Sr.
He was a member of Marseilles Masonic Lodge 417 A.F. & A.M. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and was a truck driver most of his life. He was a NASCAR fan and #3 and #88 were his favorites. He was a dirt track race car driver. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, the Chicago Blackhawks, and the Chicago White Sox.
Donald is survived by two daughters, Mandi Miller of LaSalle and Sierra Slover of Marseilles; one son, Nathan (Sean) of Dwight; three grandchildren, Hannah, Ian, and Madisen; his parents, Don and Phyllis Slover of Marseilles; one sister, Stephanie (Rick) Small of Marseilles; one brother, Brian (Sue) Slover of Ottawa; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; four nephews; and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
