Donald Edwin McLennan, 98, of LaSalle, formerly of Marseilles, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at LaSalle County Veterans Home.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 1 at Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles with military honors. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements and cremation rites.

Donald was born on May 26, 1928, in Nashua, IA, to Ovie K. and Caroline (Schrage) McLennan. On, October 18, 1969, he married Jane Applebee of Marseilles who preceded him in death in 2000.

He served honorably in the United States Navy on the USS Manchester from 1948 to 1952 in the engineering department. Don was a past commander of the Marseilles American Legion Post #235. He was employed by Pittsburgh Steel and then by the Illinois Department of Transportation as a bridge inspector until his retirement.

Don is survived by his children, Marcia McLennan, John (Lety) McLennan, Joe (Betty) McLennan, and Robert McLennan; two grandchildren, Jose Pablo McLennan, Rachel McAllister, and Cord McLennan; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, and his three brothers, Paul, Charles, and Robert McLennan.
