David Wayne Grooms, 34, of Marseilles, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria after a courageous battle with a lifelong illness.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Marseilles with Reverend Troy Tvrdik officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.

He was born at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago on October 8, 1984, to David Curtis and Kathy (Kallner) Grooms.

David's favorite sport was wrestling and he also was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He enjoyed watching old movies and taking trips to Olive Garden.

He is survived by his fiancé, Jen Keith; his father, David Curtis Grooms of Marseilles; one sister, Pennie (Josh) Cobler of Newton, Iowa; and nephew and nieces, Dawson, Delaney, and Payton Cobler.

David was preceded in death by his mother; one sister, Jenny and one brother, Jessie, both in infancy.
