David E. Baudino, 85, of Marseilles, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at LaSalle County Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Military honors by the Marseilles Honor Guard will follow the funeral service. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Dave was born July 26, 1931 in Ottawa, to Joseph and Nellie (Carter) Baudino. In 1954, he married Catherine Dekreon of Ottawa.
He served in the Army in Korea and was a member of the American Legion Post #235 and V.F.W. Post #5506. He served on the Marseilles Recreation Board for 11 years and also on the Marseilles Ambulance Board. He was employed at Caterpillar in Joliet for 35 years. After retirement, he worked part time at Ganz Greenhouse. He was a member of the Ottawa Barbershop Chorus and loved singing with them for many years. He also enjoyed gardening and helping people.
Dave is survived by his wife, Kate; one daughter, Leanne (John) Barry of Bristol; two sons, Mike (Marcia) of Coon Rapids, Minn. and Brian (Karen) of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Kathrin (Matt) Gilbert, Elliot (Kaitlyn) Barry, and Matthew, Margaret, Emily, and Andrew Baudino; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Leah Gilbert; and two brothers, Joseph (Pat) and Jon Baudino, both of Marseilles.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Long and Marianne Carroll.
Memorials may be given to the Marseilles Area Ambulance Service.
Pallbearers will be his family. Honorary pallbearers will be Walt Deeter, Ray Page, Ron Boetto, and Don Farmer.
