Danny R. Adkins

Danny R. Adkins, 78, of Flanagan, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2026, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Nichol Cemetery in Marseilles.

Danny was born on March 24, 1948, in Logan County, WV, to Hobart and Kathleen Adkins. In 1967, he married Linda Winkles of Chicago who survives.

He was employed as a diesel mechanic for Crown Disposal for 45 years until his retirement. He enjoyed mowing the lawn, classic cars, and spending time in his garage. Most of all, he loved his family.

Danny is survived by his wife, Linda; his two daughters, Candace and Laura Adkins; his three grandchildren, Tony Strunk Jr., Justin Adkins, and Heather (Brian Harrell) Roman; one great-granddaughter, Maggie McGeorge; his son-in-law, Peter Brandt; and a brother, Roosevelt Adkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Diana Kay Brandt; and a sister, Tootsie Maynord who raised Danny.
