Clara M. Pitts, 85, of Marseilles, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at her home.

Per her wishes, there will be no services. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements and cremation rites.

Clara was born on April 24, 1941, in Lucerne, MO, to Johnny V. and Hazel A. (Vanbuskirk) Boland. She attended college in Nebraska, met her first husband, and moved to Marseilles. In 1980, she married Ronald K. "Sonny" Pitts, who preceded her in death in 2021.

She was employed by Libby Owens Ford until her retirement. Clara enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed her retirement in Texas, where they lived for over 25 years. She especially loved traveling, taking cruises, crocheting, sewing, family gatherings, visiting with family and friends. She enjoyed a good card game, euchre, and poker. Watching country shows and music on TV were a favorite pastime.

Clara is survived by her children, Denny (Laurie) Pitts of Sandwich, Tom (Nellie) Pitts of FL, Nancy Hawk of FL, Barb (Jim) Johnson of Marseilles, Jodeen (LeRoy) Maxon of MO, and Gene "Bud" Hawk, Jr. of NV; her grandchildren, Brandie (Tate), Leslie (Chris), Vanessa (Brian), Amber (John), Kaleb, Dusten, Chad, James Tanner, Teri (Nate), Trevor (Karima), Alyssa, Krystal (James), Brittney, Trey, Colton, and Becca (B.J.); 20 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ron; her son, David Hawk; her four siblings; 2 grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
