Cheryl Ann Higgins, 65, of Seneca, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Ascension Alexian Brothers Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. July 11, 2026, at Timmons Barn located at 3125 E. 30th Road, Seneca, IL 61360. A time of sharing will follow with Pastor Patrick Ugolini officiating. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements and cremations rites.
Cheryl was born on July 26, 1960, in Ottawa, to John “Jack” and Viola (Blue) Mosier. On April 19, 1980, she married Robert Higgins of Seneca who survives.
She loved her job at the Seneca Library where she was surrounded by books and was able to do what she did best: socialize with patrons and bring joy to her community. She was a proud member of the “Sewing Mafia.” She was the greatest mother and grandmother! Her favorite pastime was family gatherings for a lot of food, board games and card games. She was a mother to all who knew her and always had extra kids wherever she went. She was a woman of many names: daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, Shu Shu, Cheri, Neema, Meema and Neenee.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Bob; her children, Amanda (Brendon) Fort, April Higgins, John (Maggie) Higgins, Elizabeth (Patrick) Terry, and Joshua (Ashley) Higgins; 12 grandchildren, Brady, Jackson, Peyton, and Jacob Fort, Kellen and Cora Higgins, Easton, Aidah, Elsie, and Ryne Terry, and Liv and Dane Higgins; her father, Jack Mosier; her two sisters, Jody (Rick) Timmons and Jackie (Pat) Ugolini; a brother-in-law, David (Kim) Higgins; her nieces and nephews, Abby (Jesse) Fugitt, David (Corrie) Timmons, Becca (Nate) Spampanato, Nic Ugolini, Patrick (Alyssa) Ugolini, Jonathon (Kate) Ugolini, Kelsey (Nick) Moersch, Kale (Bridgette) Walsh, and Kait Higgins; numerous cousins; many great nieces and nephews; and her bonus sister, Mary Lynn Cole.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Viola Mosier, and her aunt, Violet Shockey.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the family to be divided amongst her favorite charities.
