Obituary

Charles Rivett, 89, of Seneca, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, surrounded by his beloved family.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p. m. Saturday, November 2, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Tvrdik of the First Baptist Church officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Kasel Post #457.  Visitation will be from 10 a. m. to 12 p. m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt Hope Cemetery in Seneca at a later date.

He was born January 19, 1930 in Seneca to Ernest and Beatrice (Spinney) Rivett.  In 1957, he married Isabell M. Huss of Marseilles who preceded him in death in 2017.

Charles served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed by Lyondell Basell in Morris as a maintenance supervisor until his retirement. He enjoyed summers in Wisconsin and winters in Florida. Chuck and Izzy enjoyed dancing and they would spend weekends traveling to different venues to cut a rug.

Survivors include his four daughters, Carolyn Ann Gibson of Morris, Joyce (Leo) Thomas of Ottawa, Jodie Rivett of Seneca, and Connie (Donald) Towne of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Megan (Jeremiah) Adams, David Gibson, Ashley (Michael Wilson) Gibson, Ronald Towne; two great-grandchildren, Graham Thomas and Elise Michaela Adams; one brother, Robert of NC; and one sister, Barbara (John) Summers of AK.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret Johnson; and three brothers, John, Paul, and Burton.
