Catherine "Kate" M. Baudino, 88, of Ottawa, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 4, 2021, at OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday April 9, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi in Ottawa. A memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church with father Gary Caster officiating. Burial will be in Nichol Cemetery in Marseilles.
She was born on April 9, 1933, in Ottawa, to Matthew and Marie (Keller) Dekreon. On April 24, 1954, she married David Baudino of Marseilles, who preceded her in death in 2016.
Dave and Kate resided in Marseilles for 62 years, where they raised their three children. Kate was delighted when they moved to Ottawa in 2016 where she enjoyed new friendships and community at Pleasant View Luther Home.
She loved music, enjoyed sewing, and traveling with her husband. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was deep in her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Ottawa and St. Joseph Parish in Marseilles.
Kate is survived by her three children, Michael (Marcia) Baudino of Coon Rapids, MN, Leanne Barry of Ottawa, and Brian (Karen) Baudino of Nashville, TN; six grandchildren, Kathrin (Matt) Gilbert, Elliot (Kaitlyn) Barry, Matthew, Margaret, Emily, and Andrew Baudino; and three great-grandchildren, Noah and Leah Gilbert, and Brooklyn Barry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David; four brothers, two sisters, and a son-in-law, John Barry.
