Caroline Gertrude Stoddart, 84, of Marseilles, passed away Tuesday August 16, 2016 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Morris. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles is handling the arrangements.
Caroline was born August 18, 1931 in Forest Park, to Thomas G. and Gertrude D. (Freundt) Elkins. On April 2, 1955, she married Gerald L. Stoddard who preceded her in death in 2012.
She was a member of Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morris. She graduated from Proviso Township High School in the class of 1949. She volunteered at many local nursing homes and worked as a caregiver for several years.
Caroline is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Thomas and Edwin Elkins.
