Cara L. King, 58, of Seneca, formerly of Homer Glen, passed away June 8, 2019 at her home.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Woodsmoke Ranch in Seneca. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

She was born on January 26, 1961, in Chicago, (Austin Area) IL. On October 10, 2015, she wed Maria Bertucci, at their beloved Woodsmoke Ranch, surrounded by their friends and family.

As a child, Cara became an avid swimmer and was involved in water ballet. Her love for swimming and pool time continued in adulthood. She loved children and owned and operated Little Learners Academy in Worth, IL for thirty years. Having a passion for animal welfare, Cara loved all things furry and in need of a good home. She always had room in her heart and home for one more stray. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and living at her summer home in Woodsmoke Ranch.

She is survived by her wife, Maria; her step-son, Michael Bertucci; her father, Charles Chiodo; two grandchildren, Brayden Suva and Aaliyah Sandoval; a daughter-in-law, Jessica Suva; two sisters, Antoinette Willey and Carmen Menchaca; her aunt, Lynn (Bill) Fitzgerald; her sister-in-law, Karen Papalia; five brothers-in-law, Charles (Marilyn), Frank (Nina), Anthony (Charlene), James (Jeanette) and Richard Bertucci; her goddaughter, Tonya Sandoval; her lifetime friend, David Dorn and very special friend, Erin McFadden.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dale Williams and Dolores McConnell; parents, Robert and Barbara Guhl; her son, Julian Thomas King; and brother-in-law, Louis Bertucci.
