Brian Lee Johnson, 56, of Hale, MI, formerly of Marseilles, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Brian was born on December 20, 1966, in Ottawa, IL, to Ernest P. and Margaret L. (Casner) Johnson. Brian grew up in Marseilles where he graduated from Marseilles High School in 1985. He then went on to Olivet Nazarene University for 4 years.

Brian is survived by his wife, Christy K. (Turnbull) Johnson; his 2 daughters, Brista J. Johnson and Meganne C. Johnson; his mother, Margaret L. Johnson of Rocky Mount, VA; one brother, Greg (Lorrie) Johnson of Aurora, IL; one sister, Stephanie (Daryl) Holley of Ferrum, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brian is preceded in death by his father, Ernest P. Johnson; a brother-in-law, Jason H. Boldt; one nephew, Jonathan P. Holley; his mother-in-law, Christine M. Turnbull; and his father-in-law, Rev. Edward A. Turnbull.

A celebration of life service will take place on May 6, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Morris, IL with Rev. Steve Larson and Rev. Steve Cook officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. with the celebration of life to begin at 11:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation in memory of Brian.
