Bonnie Lou Scott, 77, of Hodgkins, previously of Marseilles, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at her home with her family by her side.

Bonnie was born on June 1, 1948, in Hinsdale, IL, to Edward and Gertrude (Matz) Kovel. In 1991, she married Jack Scott of Hodgkins who survives.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hodgkins, IL. Bonnie was the most loving wife, sister, mother, Nana, and great Nana to her family and to all those that knew her. She always gave you a positive feeling when talking to her, encouraging you to keep your heart and faith in God. She was the happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. She loved to go to dinners with her husband, brother, and sister-in-law or her best friends. She even enjoyed a fun night at the casino. She often danced around the room, and projected happiness while listening to her favorite music. If she was not relaxing in her well chilled house, you often could find her playing shark attack in her pool that mostly all the kids and grandkids enjoyed. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all.
Bonnie is survived her husband, Jack of Hodgkins and Marseilles; her daughters, Jennifer Sala-Haizlip of Hodgkins, Angela Sala of Marseilles, and Jacque Yawn of Marseilles; six grandchildren, Brandi Sala of Lockport, Brooke Hawk-Flores of Marseilles, Eian Yawn of Marseilles, Tristan Sala of Hodgkins, Emma Yawn of Marseilles, and Zachary Haizlip of Hodgkins; two great-grandchildren, Ace Walsh and Samuel Hawk-Flores; her brother, Timothy Kovel of Hodgkins; her sister-in-law, Linda Kovel of Hodgkins; and her nephews, Clint and Brett Kovel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Valient Kovel.
Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hodgkins, IL.
