Billy G. Burden, 92, former resident of Seneca, IL passed away on December 31, 2024 at Goldwater Care in Marseilles.

Services will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.

Billy was born December 4, 1932 in Longview, Texas to Marvin and Elsie (Willoughby) Burden. He married Janice Blair of Houston, Texas in 1987. He was a veteran, serving as an Aerial Photographer in the U.S. Air Force from 1949 to 1953, earning the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He was a proud member of IBEW Local 716 Houston, TX. He was a published songwriter and poet, he loved a good conversation and a good book.

Billy is survived by his wife, Janice Burden of Peru, IL; two daughters, Krista (John) Steward of Acampo, CA and Sarah (Jason) Sims of Rochelle, IL; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Burden and Elsie Grass; his sister, Marcella Smith; his step-daughter, Salena Blair; and son, Bo Scott.

Memorials may be directed to his family or your local Veterans group, Hines Fisher House was his favorite.
