Beverly was born November 21, 1937, in Canton, IL, to David and Mary (Henderson) Putman. In 1956, she married Robert Strickland of Ottawa. She later married Don Hall of Marseilles who preceded her in death.
Beverly was employed by Marseilles School District until her retirement in 2011. She taught for over forty-five years. She was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Church.
Bevy was the only child of Mary and David Putman. As a young girl she spent summers running fishing lines, cleaning catfish, and picking apricots with her father. She loved spending time with her Dad, even though, she said that he only took her along when his fishing buddy could not join him.
Beverly loved cheerleading and was avid sports fan throughout her life, supporting and following the local and State sporting events - Jr High through college as her beloved students, children and grandchildren played, Ottawa, Marquette, St Ambrose, and even LP. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Marseilles basketball tournament and, when possible, could always be spotted in the stands.
Beverly was very talented and created the most beautiful wreaths and fabulous bows. Working with her daughter, Sally, the Christmas wreaths and grave blankets they produced were loved by all. She also loved gardening and had such a talent for putting together the most beautiful pots and wonderful vegetable gardens which produced her family's favorite tomato juice. She enjoyed tending to her plants and her vison for flowering pots and enthusiasm for the garden was contagious.
Teaching school was her passion, and her classrooms were always fun and creative. The students were encouraged to share thoughts and discuss topics. She loved her students and the wonderful teachers that she worked with. There are a special group of teachers who were her dear friends or - HER Bunch -who she loved so much and spent time with whenever she could, including a recent Fiesta that included Steak Fajitas (Pat), Stuffed green pepper soup (Paula), and Frozen Margaritas (Darcy).
She is survived by her children, Sarah "Sally" Revell of Marseilles and Robert (Tina) Strickland of LaSalle, and her three grandchildren, Jordan Strickland, Carly (John Forbes) Rooks, and Max Strickland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and her son-in-law, David Revell.
In lieu of the flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
