Betty (Gretencord) Wise, 97, of Marseilles was called to the Lord on December 9, 2019 at the LaSalle County Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 13 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Father Ghislain Inai officiating.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.

Mrs. Wise was born January 2, 1922 on the family farm in Rutland Township to Joseph and Bertha (Eichelkraut) Gretencord.  She married Thurman Wise on February 5, 1944, who preceded her in death on June 18, 1999.

Betty was a 1939 graduate of Ottawa Township High School. She worked at the Seneca shipyards and Groshong's drug store in Marseilles.  She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.  Betty loved her family and enjoyed talking with them about their lives.  She loved life, animals, especially cardinals and flowers. She respected and loved all who served for our country.  She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Barbara Greeson; her son, Douglas (Becky) Wise; seven grandchildren, Steve, Brian, Anthony, and Jeffrey Greeson, Danielle, Aaron and Elizabeth Wise; many nieces and nephews, Wallace (Lee) Hougas, Virjean (Virgel) Applebee, Shirley and Steve Lettsome, Diane Kjellesvik, and Lynn Kjellesvik.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Joe Greeson; three sisters, Catherine (Wallace) Hougas, Ernestine (Roy) Kjellesvik, and Frances (Albert) Lettsome; one brother, Joseph (Luella and 2 ^nd wife Bess) Gretencord; two nephews, Richard and Robert Kjellesvik; and a loved aunt, Frances Dittman.

Her grandchildren will be pallbearers.
