Betty L. Kennedy, 80, of Marseilles, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016, at her daughter's home in Ottawa.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, December 10, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles at a later date.
Betty was born December 16, 1935, in Marseilles to Ava Thomas. In 1955, she married George Kennedy of Chicago who preceded her in death in 1999.
She was a member of the Marseilles Women's Club, the Ottawa Moose; and danced at Patty Gray's School of Dance for many years. She enjoyed traveling and went to Ireland twice.
Betty is survived by one daughter, Vera Hanlon of Ottawa; two grandsons, Wayne (Shantel) Hanlon and Matthew Grieves, both of Ottawa; and three great-grandchildren, Jake, Karli, and Brayden.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her mother, Ava Thomas; and one brother, Russell Thomas.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
