Obituary

Betty J. Ball, 89, of Streator, formerly of Marseilles, who was a loving mother, caring sister, best grandmother, and treasured friend went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

A service celebrating her life and faith will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Marseilles at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 6. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to join us for a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. in the church hall following the service. Inurnment with her husband will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles is in charge of arrangements.

Betty was born on March 14, 1936, in Marseilles to Henry and Lottie (Norem) Juergensen. She lived a life of faith, kindness, and service. Her unwavering devotion to God was the foundation of everything she did, guiding her through life's joys and challenges with grace and humility. On April 12, 1959, she married Ronald F. Ball of Marseilles, who preceded her in death in 2019, after celebrating 60 years of marriage.

Besides her family, Betty found joy in her church community, where she served faithfully for many years. Whether through volunteering, visiting nursing home patients, or organizing the annual Christmas cookie drive for 40 years, she was an active member and faithful servant of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Betty is survived by children, Ronnie (Colleen), Roger, Diane (Steve Dyer), Michael, and Eric; her beloved grandsons, Jordan and Jason Ball; her sister, Jo Ann (Jim) Gideon; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; one daughter, Debra in infancy; one daughter-in-law, Terri Ball; one sister, Marjorie M. Stellhorn; and five brothers, Lester J., Donald L., Walter R., Gerald D. and Rodney G. Juergensen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Pet Project or the Marseilles Trinity Lutheran Church.

Betty was deeply loved, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
