Barry Anthony Cobler, 75, of Marseilles, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at his home.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

He was born July 15, 1948, in Ottawa, to Grover and Virginia (Codo) Cobler. In 1985, he married Merri Rivett of Seneca who survives.

Barry earned his Bachelor's in Education from Western Colorado University. He was a member of Laborer's Local 393 until his retirement, after which he joined the Street Department of the City of Marseilles until his second retirement. He loved outdoor activities such as fishing, mushroom hunting, and golfing, often enjoying trips to Illini State Park. Additionally, he cherished moments with loved ones, including family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Merri Cobler of Marseilles; his children, Casey (Heather) Cobler of Chicago and Keenan Cobler of Morris; his brother, Richard Cobler of Pensacola, FL; his sisters-in-law, Cheryl Warning, Deanne Ebelherr, and Fran Rivett all of Morris; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Grover Cobler; his mother and father-in-law, John and Dorothy Rivett; his sister-in-law, Dianne Rivett; one nephew, Matt Rivett; and his brothers-in-law, Ken Ebelherr, John Rivett, Terry Rivett and Bill Warning.

Memorials may be directed to Lightways Hospice in Joliet.
