Obituary

Barbara Ann Kelley, 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Funeral services are private. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Barb was born on April 22, 1938, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to Ralph and Mary Jane (Hope) Jones. She graduated from Martins Ferry High School, always proud of her Purple Riders and the place she called home in her early years.

She married her husband, Howard, in 1957. Together, they shared a beautiful marriage and went on to raise eight children.

Barbara was a woman whose beauty radiated far beyond what the eye could see, though her smile alone could light up any room. There was a warmth about Barb, a kindness that made people feel safe, seen, and deeply loved.

Her family was her world. She loved her children with her whole heart, adored her husband, and found one of her greatest joys in being a grandmother. She created a home filled with comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.

Barb had a gentle way of making life feel special. Whether she was baking cakes for the people she loved, quilting, tending to her beautiful garden, or sitting quietly working on a crossword puzzle while Jeopardy played in the background, she found joy in the simple, meaningful moments.

She had a special connection to nature. She loved birds, flowers, and anything that bloomed under her care. Her green thumb was a reflection of who she was: nurturing, patient, and full of life.

Music lived in her soul. She didn't just listen to it; she felt it. In the middle of a conversation, she might break into song, bringing laughter and light to those around her. It was one of the many ways she made ordinary moments unforgettable.

Her heart was one of the warmest and most loving you could ever know. To be loved by Barbara was a gift, and her presence will be dearly missed and forever cherished.

Barbara is survived by her loving children, Mary (Terry) Blue, Howard C. (Gayla Tucker) Kelley, Beth Goldstein, Glenn (Karen) Kelley, Amy Kelley, and Tim (Susan) Kelley; her cherished grandchildren, Daniel (Erica) Read, Katie (Bryan) Bodine, Sara (Nathan) Whalen, Aron (Kris) Oakley, Matthew (Amy) Oakley, Kourtney, Ashley, Sean (Meghan), Lucy, and Nathan Kelley; her great-grandchildren, Cade, Kendall, Aiden, Paige, Nate, Maggie, Emma, and Sophie; her dear siblings, Jane White, Mary Beth (Bill) Yaeger, Bonnie (Joe Busby) Travis, Pam (Mike) Cox, and Ralph (Patty) Jones; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard B. Kelley; her beloved children, Patrick Kelley and Lisa Tucker; and her brothers, Casey and Ned Jones.

We find comfort in knowing she is in a joyful reunion with the loved ones she missed so deeply. Her love will remain with us always, carried forward in the lives she shaped and the family she adored.
