Andrew. Moore, 91, of Marseilles, passed away Tuesday October 17, 2017, at Joliet Area Community Hospice.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 21 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.
Andy was born February 23, 1926 in Danville, to Albert and Jessie (Kitts) Moore. On December 7, 1946, he married Dorothy Kelley of Ottawa, who preceded him in death in 2016.
He served in the Seabees during W.W. II and was stationed in Guam. He was a professional owner-operator over the road truck driver, belonging to the Teamsters' Union. He also owned and operated Moore's 66 Gas Station and Moore's Towing of Marseilles until his retirement. He was a member of the Marseilles American Legion Post 235 and V.F.W Post 5506.
Andy is survived by three children, Judy Oakes and Kathy (Darrell) Hovious, both of Marseilles, and David (Peggy) Moore of Ottawa; grandchildren, T.J. & Lonnie Moore, Tom & Shelly Moore, Ted & Elaine Moore, Cassie & Rick Reynolds, Brad & Julie Oakes, Chris & Liz Hovious, Amy & Dave Clausen, and Andy & Jen Moore; great-grandchildren, Bryson, Andrew, Candie, Kyle & Erica, Brittany, Carly & Sam, Kolton & Lanie, Christopher, Niki, Landon, Ryne, and Deagan; great great-granddaughter, Brylie; and a brother, Gene (Connie) Moore of East Troy, Wisc.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; a son, Tim; two sisters, Mary Patton and Lorraine Kiest; three brothers, Lawrence, A.J, and Clarence Moore and two siblings in infancy and childhood.
Pallbearers will be Tom, T.J., Ted, and Andy Moore, Darrell and Chris Hovious, Ed Cavanaugh, and Greg Kofoid.
